Kove started the way plenty of Australian pickleball stories do. Someone got talked into a social session at the local courts — “it's like tennis, but easier, you'll love it” — and never quite left.

The game was the easy part. It's quick to learn, endlessly social and a little bit addictive. The paddle was the hard part. The borrowed one was heavy and dead. The cheap ones felt like chopping boards. The good ones came with a price tag north of $300, graphics that looked like an energy drink, and very little thought given to the fact that most of us play outdoors, in the heat, on concrete.

So our founder set out to make the paddle they couldn't find: one that looked good leaning against the fence, played like a serious bit of kit, and didn't cost the price of a weekend away. That meant working through samples and spec sheets, and a lot of time on court, until the answer was the Kove Current.

Why “Kove”?

A cove is the sheltered bay where the locals gather: calm water, warm sand, somewhere you can spend a whole afternoon without noticing. That's what the best pickleball feels like. A regular crew, a few courts, a long arvo and nobody in a hurry to leave. We borrowed the name, and the colours — deep water, sea glass, driftwood, sandstone and the last of the sun.

What we make

A deliberately small range. The Current is our flagship raw carbon-fibre paddle, with a 16mm honeycomb core for control and a forgiving sweet spot. The Duo Set gets two people playing properly. And a handful of accessories — balls, overgrips and covers — cover the rest of the kit bag.

Kove is Australian owned and our paddles are designed for Australian players and conditions. Like nearly every quality paddle on the market, they're manufactured by a specialist paddle maker overseas — we'll never claim otherwise.
