Carbon fibre is stiffer and lighter for its strength, so it gives more control, a more consistent feel and — with a raw textured face like ours — more spin. Fibreglass faces flex more and feel poppier, but tend to be less precise. Our Journal has a full breakdown of carbon fibre vs fibreglass.

Yes. The thick 16mm core and foam-injected edges make it forgiving when you don't hit the centre, and the mid-weight balance won't tire you out. You'll improve with it instead of out of it.

Between 225g and 235g (about 7.9–8.3oz). That's mid-weight: enough mass for stable volleys and drives without being heavy on your arm or elbow.

The Current's grip is about 11.5cm (4.5in) around, which suits most adult hands. A quick check: hold the paddle with your usual grip — you should be able to fit your other hand's index finger between your fingertips and palm. If it's too big, go without an overgrip. Too small? Add one.

The core is the honeycomb layer sandwiched between the paddle faces. Thicker cores (16mm) absorb more pace, which means softer dinks, steadier blocks and a bigger sweet spot. Thinner cores (13–14mm) feel poppier but less forgiving.

Not at launch — the Current isn't on the USA Pickleball approved paddle list. That makes no difference for social play, club sessions and most local ladders. Many sanctioned tournaments do require an approved paddle, so if you compete, check your event's rules. If the Current gains approval, we'll say so on the product page.

No, and we won't pretend otherwise. Kove is Australian owned and our paddles are designed for Australian players and conditions, then manufactured by a specialist paddle maker overseas — as almost all quality paddles are. We sign off every design and spec, and stand behind them with our Play Promise and warranty.

It's designed for outdoor Australian courts with a UV-resistant finish and a tough edge guard. The biggest risk to any paddle is a hot car: temperatures inside a parked car can damage the core and adhesives. Keep it in its cover and bring it inside with you.

Standard shipping is free on orders of $99 or more. Under that, it's a flat $9.95 Australia-wide. Express shipping is $14.95.

We dispatch within 1–3 business days. Standard delivery then usually takes 5–12 business days, and express 2–5 business days, depending on where you are. Regional and remote areas can take a little longer.

Not yet — we currently ship to Australian addresses only, including PO boxes and parcel lockers.

Yes. Every order is tracked, and we'll email your tracking link the day your parcel leaves us.

Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Link and Afterpay. All payments are processed securely by Stripe. We never see or store your card details.

Play with your Kove paddle for up to 30 days from delivery. If you don't love it, send it back and we'll refund the paddle price. It's on top of — not instead of — your rights under the Australian Consumer Law. The full details are on our Play Promise page.

Unused accessories in original packaging can be returned within 30 days for a change of mind. For hygiene reasons we can't accept used overgrips or balls unless they're faulty.

Every paddle has a 12-month warranty against manufacturing defects, in addition to your rights under the Australian Consumer Law. Email us a photo and your order number and we'll sort a repair, replacement or refund.

The Duo Set is our most-gifted item: two paddles, balls and covers in one box. The Play Promise gives the recipient 30 days of play to be sure, and you can ship it straight to them.

Yes — just enter their name and address as the shipping details at checkout. Your order confirmation and receipt come to you, not them.
